Cresciuto all'ombra del vulcano Etna, Vito Finocchiaro eredita dal padre Antonino la passione e i segreti della Fotografia. Attivo dal 1984, ha fatto della fotografia un viaggio continuo di crescita e ricerca interiore.
Il suo sguardo, attento e analitico, dialoga costantemente con l'imprevisto e l'intervento creativo del caso. Specializzato nel reportage a sfondo sociale, ha raccontato con la stessa intensità le genti della propria terra e le realtà di paesi lontani, dall'America Latina all'Africa profonda, fino all'Asia. Attraverso una perfetta sintonia con il soggetto, le sue immagini non si limitano a descrivere la realtà, ma spingono lo spettatore a fermarsi e riflettere, trasmettendo la vera essenza del racconto fotografico.

"Fotografare significa comunicare e instaurare un dialogo tra immagine e spettatore. La fotografia vera non spiega: pone domande e trasmette emozioni. Solo entrando in sintonia con lui, l'immagine può spingere chi la guarda a fermarsi e riflettere."
